BIO
Michał Danny Nowak is a Kraków-based jewellery designer, silversmith and founder of GONE ARCHIVE, an independent jewellery atelier established in Poland.
Working primarily with sterling silver and other precious metals, he creates jewellery and small-scale objects through hand fabrication, casting, forging and experimental surface treatments. His practice moves between jewellery, sculpture, architecture and material research.
PRACTICE
His practice focuses on jewellery and small-scale objects made primarily from precious metals, combining traditional silversmithing and lost-wax techniques with experimental surface treatments, industrial references and sculptural forms.
Rather than treating jewellery solely as an accessory, Nowak approaches it as an object with its own material and architectural presence. His work explores weight, erosion, fracture, texture and the relationship between constructed and organic forms.
PRIMITIVE FUTURISM
Primitive Futurism is a design language developed by Michał Danny Nowak. It describes the intersection between archaic forms and imagined futures.
The language developed through Nowak's jewellery practice combines references to archaeological artefacts, brutalist architecture, industrial construction, geological erosion and speculative design.
Rather than imagining the future through technological perfection and polished surfaces, Primitive Futurism treats future objects as if they were already archaeological artefacts. The result is jewellery that can appear simultaneously ancient and futuristic: constructed yet eroded, primitive yet technological, functional yet ambiguous.
Within GONE ARCHIVE, jewellery is the primary medium through which this language is explored.
GONE ARCHIVE
GONE ARCHIVE is an independent jewellery atelier founded by Michał Danny Nowak in Kraków, Poland.
The studio works primarily with sterling silver, 14k gold and other precious-metal alloys, producing jewellery and wearable objects through hand fabrication, casting, forging, texturing, oxidation and other material processes. The work is handcrafted in Poland.
GONE ARCHIVE operates as a one-person jewellery practice and has been documented by international fashion and jewellery publications.
COLLABORATIONS
Enfin Levé × GONE
GONE has collaborated with the independent fashion house Enfin Levé, with jewellery and hardware produced by the Kraków atelier. The 2026 T-Rex Leather™ project incorporated handmade sterling-silver hardware designed by Michał Danny Nowak, including a cold-forged element inspired by the DNA double helix and a lost-wax-cast buckle set with natural black diamonds.
A LIGHT LOST
Nowak is also associated with A LIGHT LOST, a design project focused on architectural and brutalist jewellery. The FHORU-Ring translates the architecture of Hotel Forum in Kraków into an oxidised-silver jewellery object.
