What makes a signet ring brutalist

A signet is the oldest wearable form there is - a flat face on a heavy band, historically carved with a crest and pressed into wax. We keep the mass and drop the heraldry. The face is left as the carving left it: fractured, eroded, pitted or folded, and on most designs oxidised so the recesses go dark while the raised surface stays bright.
